January 2020 Fishing Report

Englewood & Boca Grande Monthly Fishing Updates

January 6th, 2020 | Capt. Cameron Schurlknight

New year is here and has brought clean water and great fishing. The big news is the redfish. The reds are making a great comeback and are all over the place. Anywhere from smaller juvenile fish in the 16-20in range up to seeing some quality fish in the 27-30in range. This is a big change from years past and the the future of red fishing looks awesome.

The fishing nearshore is really heating up as well. Snapper, sheepshead and triple tail are all showing up in good numbers along the reefs and natural ledges. Lots of fun and great action with plenty to take home when we can get out there.

I am running a new boat this year and it is really awesome. The 24 foot T- Craft is super roomy and and an awesome fishing platform. Very stable and fishy. Look forward to seeing everyone this season!
