September 2015 Fishing Report

Englewood & Boca Grande Monthly Fishing Updates

September 15th, 2015 | Capt. Cameron Schurlknight

The crowds have vanished and we are left with nothing but flats and bays full of bait and hungry fish. As we get into September, we reach the best redfishing of the year. Big schools of breeder redfish have invaded our flats and are hungry as they beef up before they go out to spawn. Some schools I have been fishing have 200-300 fish in it. The fish are aggressive and in these big schools as they fight for food. This will continue throughout the month.

Snook are now making their way into the backcountry and are feeding well as they prepare for the cooler months. With the large amount of bait, I have been able to get them fired up into a frenzy and the bite is on.
